In late 2025, widespread protests erupted in Iran over rising oil prices and growing dissatisfaction, only to be violently suppressed while the government cut off internet access, leaving video and information scarce.

This project started with a dataset of verified protest videos, each tagged by incident type and location. My role was to translate that data into a series of maps and a timeline. I used tags to plot separate maps showing different types of incidents, and selecting which videos to surface to show that demonstrations were spreading across the country rather than concentrated in one place.
